The Research Grants Officer is responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to researchers in all aspects of pre-award and post-award grant administration. This will include identifying, promoting and managing high value/impact research opportunities to PeterMac researchers, providing expert advice and guidance to researchers in the completion of research applications; the interpretation of funding guidelines, execution of funding agreements and research awards; compliance with funding bodies’ procedures, reporting and compliance. The Research Grants Officer will liaise with researchers, department staff, PMCC Operations and University of Melbourne in coordinating applications, acceptance of research funding and the timely submission of reports to funding bodies.

Selection Criteria Essential: Relevant experience in an administration environment, preferably in Government, Medical Research Institute, University or Project Management.
Essential: Experience in the administration of health and medical research grants.
Essential: An ability to interpret and apply complex instructions, guidelines, and the ability to critique documents.
Essential: Excellent customer services and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear, accurate pre-award and post -award grant management advice.
Essential: Strong MS Outlook, Word, Excel skills and experience with databases e.g. LEX
Essential: Ability to show initiative, undertake tasks and recommend new approaches with minimum supervision.
Essential: Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
Essential: Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
