Your role in our future.


We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant to join the Translational Breast Cancer Genomics and Therapeutics Laboratory headed by Prof. Sherene Loi on a fixed-term full time basis, with the opportunity for future extension subject to project funding.  The Loi Lab aims to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying the generation of protective T cell immunity, with a view to develop new therapeutic strategies designed to harness immune cells to protect against infection and cancer.


This position will involve working closely with staff members within the Loi lab; including Postdoctoral researchers, other Research Assistants and Students to provide laboratory and research support.  


The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and organised individual capable of working independently as well as within a team. You will be self-driven, possess a love of learning and have a friendly and enthusiastic disposition. 


Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience in line with the Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020; classification scale 1RA2 to 1RA6.

Selection Criteria Essential: B.Sc. (Hons) with experience in one or more fields of cellular immunology (particularly flow cytometry), human immunology, cell & molecular biology.
Essential: At least two years experience with animal handling and experimental techniques.
Essential: Experience with flow cytometry analysis.
Essential: Effective, accurate and timely record keeping.
Essential: Effective organisational and time management skills.
Essential: High quality written and oral communication skills.
Desirable: Experience in in vitro and molecular biology techniques (cell culture work,DNA/RNA extractions, PCR, RNA sequencing techniques)
Desirable: Experience with multiplex fluorescence immunohistochemistry
