An opportunity exists for a highly motivated Administration Officer to join our Pathology Administration team, supporting a specialised diagnostic pathology service.  This is a 12 month fixed term position.


Reporting to the Administration manager, you will join a fast paced and supportive admin team environment and will be required to:

  • Provide excellent customer service;
  • Ensure phone and email enquiries are triaged and responded to in a timely and respectful manner;
  • Electronically process patient referrals and registrations in an accurate and timely fashion;
  • Receipt of external pathology samples for testing;
  • Maintain patient records in accordance with confidentiality and privacy requirements;
  • Prepare agendas, coordinate meeting dates and room bookings and take minutes for meetings,

We are seeking applicants with the following skills or attributes:

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully;
  • Experience and/or training in an administrative setting;
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of IT systems, including MS Office, preferably in a health care setting;
  • Highly organised, efficient and able to prioritise a busy workload;
  • A team player with an enthusiastic and flexible work attitude.

Selection Criteria Essential: Experience and/or training in an administrative setting.
