Your role in our future.


A full time position is available immediately for a Postdoctoral Fellow to manage and execute an NHMRC funded research project.


The appointee will undertake the solid phase synthesis of a library of peptides and complex organic synthesis of unnatural amino acids and their incorporation into peptides. The research will involve experiments in synthetic organic chemistry particularly heterocyclic chemistry and amino acid/peptide chemistry and will use techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry and high performance liquid chromatography for the purification and characterization of synthetic compounds. Aspects of the project will involve solid phase synthesis of highly functionalised peptides and peptidomimetics. The appointee will also be required to prepare functionalised peptides of high quality for radiolabelling with radionuclides for Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Peptide Receptor Radionuclide Therapy (PRRT). Moreover, the appointee will be required to contribute to radiochemistry experiments and method developments. The responsibilities will also include the thorough documentation of research conducted and regular writing of reports and manuscripts for publication. 


Candidates should hold a PhD degree in chemistry.
