Cancer Imaging at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is looking for an experienced analytical chemist to join its Radiopharmaceutical Research Laboratories. 

 

A full time fixed term (2 year) position is available immediately for an analytical chemist with strong analytical experience. The successful candidate will work as part of a busy molecular imaging program that provides a range of nuclear medicine and PET imaging procedures, as well as an active and expanding radionuclide therapy program.

 

The analytical chemist will be an important member of our radiopharmaceutical development team whose main objective is to assist in the reliable and timely provision of radiopharmaceuticals to a busy nuclear medicine practice. This position will also provide the opportunity for a motivated analytical chemist to extend their skill set to include radiopharmaceutical science applications with roles not only in the provision of agents to the clinic but also fundamental research. You will be a key player in managing the Radiopharmaceutical Research Quality Control Laboratories.

 

Your primary duties will include, but not be limited to, the provision of a radioanalytical service to the service. You will be responsible for the analysis of radiopharmaceuticals, the development of robust analytical methods to identify radiopharmaceuticals and their validation. You will also be proficient in HPLC, GC and TLC. Consequently, you will be an instrumental member of a multi-disciplined team working at all times in accordance with occupational health and safety, and regulatory requirements.

Selection Criteria Essential: Bachelor of Science Degree
Essential: Pharmaceutical industry trained and analytical chemistry experience
