The Radiopharmaceutical Sciences (RPS) laboratory at Peter Mac is involved in all aspects of Radiopharmaceutical Sciences including:

 

  1. developing new methods for radiolabelling bioactive molecules
  2. design and synthesis of new radiotracers/theranostics for PET imaging and radionuclide therapy
  3. clinical provision of radiopharmaceuticals. Our RPS lab has a strong interest in all chemical aspects of the discovery, development and evaluation of novel radioactive probes for molecular imaging with PET and targeted radionuclide therapy.

We are seeking a post-doctoral level chemist to support the development of novel theranostics (the combination of a targeted therapeutic and a diagnostic companion) targeting aggressive and lethal cancers.

 

The successful applicant will undertake complex organic synthesis of unnatural amino acids and their incorporation into peptides to generate next generation theranostics. Experience in organic synthesis and solid phase peptide synthesis is essential. The successful applicant may also be required to assist in other radiochemistry/biological screening studies being conducted in the RPS Laboratory.
