Your role in our future.


We are looking for an experience administrator and passionate patient advocate with a strong background to join the Patient Navigator team at Peter Mac. We have a permanent full time and a fixed term full time (2 years) position available.


At Peter MacCullum Cancer Centre, our patient care is delivered via tumour stream model. This means that a patient's care is coordinated and provided by a multidisciplinary team of people  who have a specialist knowledge of specific type of cancer. Patient Navigators work closely with the tumour stream specialist  nurses and doctors who will provide support and direction regarding daily work priorities such as a Multidisciplinary meetings (MDM'S).


Tha Patient Navigator is responsible for guiding the patient through their cancer care treatment by ensuring patients' diagnostics, treatment and clinic review appointments are appropriately timed, sequenced and coordinated.


The Patient Navigator is an integral member of this care team, playing an important role in providing the first line response to incoming calls from patients, carers and referrers in the community to best assist patient care.

The Patient Navigator role requires a high level of administrative experience and attention to detail.
