The Parkville Cancer Clinical trials Unit co-ordinates cancer clinical trials across the 3 hospitals of the Parkville Precinct: the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Royal Women's Hospital. We have an extensive and expanding Early Drug Development (EDD) trials program with over 40% of our trials and accruals coming from the EDD portfolio. Whilst Phase 1 trials are incorporated into all our trial teams, the EDD team co-ordinate the most complex trials of the portfolio. The team works across Oncology and Haematology with experienced and dedicated professionals. The portfolio offers experience in some of the most cutting edge trials anywhere in the world.

 

The team, consisting of research nurses, study co-ordinators and a clinical trial assistant, has a co-team leadership model and we are seeking a replacement for one of the 2 leaders.

 

The successful candidate will be a very experienced clinical trials professional with oncology and / or haematology experience plus Phase 1 experience in the hospital setting. Excellence in communication, problem solving and mentoring are also required. If this is you, please contact the manager of the PCCTU for further discussions. Please note - this is not a medical position and is open to research nurses and study co-ordinators.

 

Essential Criteria:

  • Must have working rights of at least 2 years in Australia
  • If a nurse, must have APHRA registration as a division 1 nurse
  • Must have extensive oncology and / or Haematology Clinical trials experience in the hospital setting, including Phase 1 experience.
  • Must have experience in small group leadership or mentoring of individual staff members
  • Must have proven excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Must have good knowledge of the Australian and International Regulatory environment of Clinical trials

Desirable criteria:

  • Post graduate qualifications in a relevant field, preferably to masters level
  • Previous leadership role

Selection Criteria Essential: If applying as a nurse, must have current APHRA registration as a Division 1 nurse
