Junior Research Assistant - Molecular Oncology Laboratory

 

An excellent opportunity exists immediately for an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled research assistant to join the Molecular Oncology Laboratory. The successful applicant will be required to work on a project that focuses on a novel treatment strategy for melanoma and the impact of this treatment has on anti-tumour immune responses.

 

Suitable candidates will possess a BSc with Honours degree and expertise in melanoma biology and immunology. The successful candidate will be self-driven, possess a love of learning and have a friendly and enthusiastic disposition. Previous cancer research experience, including experience with animal models of melanoma, and technical skills in tissue culture, flow cytometry, biochemical assays and molecular biology is essential.  Excellent organisational and time management abilities, and written and verbal communication skills are also essential. This position would suit an individual who possesses a high-level of attention to detail and is capable of working independently with minimal supervision within a team.

 

The position is for a fixed term of 12 months, with the possibility of extension. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
