The Parkville Cancer Clinical Trials Unit (PCCTU) co-ordinates drug interventional trials for cancer patients across the three institutions of the Parkville Precinct: the Women's hospital, The Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. We are one of the largest trials units in Australia and we offer a cutting edge portfolio of trials across Oncology and Haematology, from First Time in Human to Phase 3.


Due to promotion, we are seeking a Senior Research Nurse or Senior Study Co-ordinator who is interested in becoming the team leader for one of our solid tumour teams that specialises in Uro-oncology and neuro-oncology trials. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in oncology and /or haematology trials and will have worked in the hospital trials setting. They will be enthusiastic about the clinical management of cancer patients and have a major interest in front line staff management and team development. There is mentorship and leadership training provided for the successful candidate and they will be part of the PCCTU leadership team.  This is not a medical role or a lab based role.

Essential criteria: 

  • (If a nurse) will have AHPRA registation as Division 1 nurse
  • A minimum of 2 years working rights in Australia.
  • Extensive Oncology/ Haematology trials experience
  • Proven interest in mentoring or leadership
  • Excellent communication skills

Desirable criteria: 

  • Post graduate qualifications in Oncology/ haematology/ clinical trials research or related field
  • Phase 1 experience

Selection Criteria Essential: If applying as a nurse, must have AHPRA registration as a division 1 nurse and working rights in Australia for at least 2 years.

Essential: Extensive hospital based trials experience, including Phase 1 trials
Essential: Evidence of an interest in leadership and/or mentoring

Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in Oncology, haematology, clinical research or a related field
