Our Perioperative Services


A fantastic opportunity now exists for a highly motivated and skilled, caring Clinical Nurse Educator with a passion to make a difference in their patients' health care experience and be part of our welcoming team focused on offering the best cancer care.  The role is full time but job share arrangements will be considered.


Your role in our future


To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Postgraduate studies completed in perioperative nursing
  • Certificate IV or above in Training and Assessment (or working towards)
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Interpersonal and organisation skills
  • Exceptional education and training skills and abilities
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Problem-solving skills with a commitment to continuous improvement, best practise with safety and action focus
  • Adaptability to a changing and dynamic environment

The role encompasses:

  • Developing and implementing a nursing education pathway in perioperative nursing
  • Facilitating and participating in the perioperative nursing program
  • Mentoring novice staff in education, training in the perioperative environment
  • Aligning with strategic direction of perioperative services
  • Contributing to research, auditing and clinical trials involving perioperative services
  • Liaising and networking with the education unit
  • Participating in the wider organisational education programmes

Selection Criteria Essential: Registered nurse with minimum experience of 5 years in perioperative nursing
Essential: Demonstrated ability to identify educational and developmental needs of nurses
Essential: Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, customer service, staff development and role models professionalism
Essential: Completion of preceptorship program and certificate IV in Training and Assessment
