Your role in our future.

 

Outpatient Pathology is a fast paced department providing specimen collection services for Peter Mac patients. Pathology collectors in the department are responsible for the collection of specimens, taking ECGS and with advanced skill competency, also perform peripheral cannulation.  Shifts are varied and include the collections of samples from patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting.  The department sees up to 200 patients a day, with a combined workforce of both Registered Nurses and Pathology Collectors.

 

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate

 

  • Certificate III or IV in Pathology Collection
  • 12 months experience with blood collection
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Commitment to flexible working hours
  • Cannulation skills are desirable
