Position Summary

About the Nurse Workforce Unit

The Nurse Workforce Unit (NWU) is a dynamic service that supports managers and Peter Mac with provision of an in-house casual staffing service, a centralised recruitment service, workforce reporting and expertise in workforce strategy and relationship management of external staffing agencies.


About the role 

The Nurse Workforce Unit is seeking a Workforce Coordinator for a fixed term 12 month contract. Whilst this is a full time position, part time applications may be considered.


The main purpose of the position is to;

  • Support the recruitment and on boarding of casual and permanent nurses and clerical staff
  • Manage the casual clerical workforce from recruitment, on boarding, training and provision of ongoing support and performance management
  • Support the Staff Allocations role to ensure resources and skill set of the casual workforce are utilised appropriately 
  • Provide a key customer service interface and support for bank staff, external agency providers, and Peter Mac managers and staff

Essential Requirements:

  • Two years or more experience in a senior allocations role, rostering of staff or employment services with high volume recruitment
  • Strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • Experience in an environment managing high volume queries and working with multiple stakeholders
  • Demonstrated IT proficiency (Word, Access, Excel and relevant IT software)
  • Demonstrated understanding of the recruitment process and compliance requirements
