The Data Assistant will work in two areas at the Peter Mac; They will assist with data entry and data management, supporting research and clinical activities in Surgery and Anaesthesia, and Cancer Experiences Research. The successful candidate will be integral in the ongoing cohesion of key clinical and research support platforms.


The main goal of the position will be to manage research data, including improving data collection. This member of our teams will support compliance with best practice in data handling and management.

Selection Criteria Essential: Experience managing data in a health research setting - experience with REDCap or Microsoft Access database building and management highly desirable
Essential: Relevant degree in health, medical or biological studies
Essential: Understanding of medical terminology (oncology and surgical terminology highly desirable)
Essential: Demonstrated understanding of data confidentiality, security and privacy issues
Essential: Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail
Essential: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Essential: Demonstrated time management skills and an ability to prioritize workload
Essential: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access)
